About Warrington Transport Trail Half Marathon
A half marathon over 13.1 miles of trail running, the Warrington Transport Trail Half Marathon takes runners on a circular route around the town's historic transport networks on 18 October 2026. Starting and finishing at Thelwall Royal British Legion Sports Club, the course weaves through footpaths and bridleways that follow old canal towpaths and the Trans Pennine Trail, crossing the Manchester Ship Canal and River Mersey at Woolston Weir along the way.
The route is waymarked and marshalled throughout. Trail footwear is advised if wet weather precedes the event. Runners can look forward to complimentary hot drinks before and after the race, with the bar open at the finish.
