About Watergate at Whitehills 5K
Watergate at Whitehills takes place on 20 August 2026 at Whitehills Nature Park in Wrekenton, Gateshead. Low Fell Running Club organises this community running event, which offers both senior and junior races across trail terrain.
The senior 5 km race follows a fast, flat two-lap gravel trail route and doubles as the NEMAA 5 km Championship. Runners aged 15 and over are welcome to compete. Junior competitors are split into age categories from U10 to U16, with a shorter 2.5 km course. Both races use chip timing and are organised to UKA standards.
