About Waun Fach Fell Race
Waun Fach Fell Race takes place on 6 September 2026 from Moriah Chapel near Talgarth in Powys. This 11.2 km fell race covers approximately 610 m of ascent across trail terrain, following a classic horseshoe route that takes in Pen Trumau, Waun Fach and Castell Dinas. The course begins in the lane behind the pub and winds through a mix of gravel paths, improved track and former grassy terrain, descending via the Dragons Back ridge before a final climb to the old fort.
The event is capped at 50 competitors. Race headquarters is based at a car parking field near the chapel, where registration, toilets and refreshments will be provided. Three hill marshals will be stationed on the route with first aid kits and radio contact. Prize categories span age groups from V40 through to V70+, team competitions and male and female divisions. Full kit must be brought to the venue in accordance with WFRA rules, with the race officer determining what is required on the day.
