About Welsh 3 Peaks Race
The Welsh 3 Peaks Race is a continuous mountain race spanning 286 km with 11,300 m of ascent across Wales' highest peaks. Taking place on 21 September 2026, the event starts in Llanberis and finishes at Storey Arms, with much of the route following the Cambrian Way. Competitors navigate Yr Wyddfa, Cadair Idris and Pen y Fan among other significant summits, crossing demanding terrain throughout.
Runners can enter as individuals or as part of a team of three or six, with different route segments for each format. The race operates under a 108-hour time limit and includes five indoor rest areas equipped with toilets, first aid, food, drinks and sleeping facilities, plus five outdoor support stations. Competitors are advised to arrange personal support and should be largely self-sufficient, with outdoor professionals positioned along the route. Event headquarters are based at Llanberis Community Centre.
