About West Yorkshire Winter League
A series of five-mile trail races across West Yorkshire, the Winter League brings together competitors from 17 affiliated clubs between November and January. The opening fixture takes place on 15 November at Masjid E Hamza in Bradford, running a hilly single-lap course on trail terrain. Participants compete in both individual and team categories, with age-group prizes awarded in five-year bands and team honours including vets (35+) and super vets (50+) classifications.
Entry is restricted to fully paid-up members of the league's member clubs who are aged 17 or over and affiliated to England Athletics or British Triathlon. The series holds a Trail Running Association licence and operates with an overall limit of 1000 competitors. Facilities on course are minimal, with no water points, changing rooms or baggage storage available. Dogs are not permitted, and the terrain is not suitable for wheelchair users or visually impaired runners.
