At 11 kilometres across high moorland in Calderdale, this fell race demands respect for the terrain and conditions. The route follows established paths through tussocks and bracken-covered slopes, with approximately 366 metres of ascent over the course. Waymarks guide runners throughout, though visibility can be compromised by mist, so careful navigation is essential.
Taking place on 14 July 2027 from the Pack Horse Inn at Widdop, the race is licensed by the Fell Runners Association under UKA rules and designated as non-GPS. Runners may record their route with GPS devices but cannot use electronic navigation aids except in emergencies. Mandatory kit requirements—which may include waterproof jacket and trousers, hat, gloves, map, compass and whistle—are confirmed on race night based on weather conditions, with checks carried out before race numbers are issued.
