About Winter 50 Miler
The Lincolnshire Wolds form the backdrop for this 50-mile trail ultramarathon, which follows sections of the historic Viking Way through the region. Starting and finishing at Swallow Village Hall, the circular route encompasses 1,370 metres of ascent and carries an 18-hour cut-off time. Taking place on 20 February 2027, participants should prepare for typical winter conditions: limited daylight, low temperatures, strong winds and variable ground underfoot, including frozen or deep mud.
The event is supported by four aid stations stocked with food and hydration, alongside medical cover. Live GPS tracking is available for safety and spectator updates. Yellow Belly Ultras organises the race and provides GPX files compatible with Ordnance Survey maps and Garmin devices. A mandatory kit list applies. Finishers receive a bespoke medal, with additional prizes awarded to the top three male and female finishers.
