About Winter Downs 200
The Winter Downs 200 is a 200 mile trail run that loops through some of southern England's most established walking routes. Starting from Juniper Hall in Mole Valley, the course follows the North Downs Way, Vanguard Way, South Downs Way, Wayfarers Walk and St Swithuns Way in a giant circuit around the region. Runners have up to 96 hours to complete the undulating terrain, with three major aid stations offering hot food and sleeping facilities, plus the option to use a crew and drop bags.
Taking place from 9 to 13 December 2026, the event combines the challenge of winter running conditions with long stretches between support, extended periods of darkness each day, and the physical demands of the South Downs and North Downs terrain. Live tracking runs throughout, and this is a continuous single stage race where the clock does not stop. The event is held under full UK Athletics permit.
