About Woodbridge Runway 5K & 10K
Woodbridge Runway 5K & 10K takes runners to a distinctive setting on the historic former RAF Woodbridge airfield in Suffolk on 5 September 2026. The event offers both 5 km and 10 km road races across the airfield's iconic runway, which operated as a United States Air Force base during the Cold War and remains one of Europe's longest former military runways. The flat course is designed to support fast running.
Open to all abilities, the races combine an aviation heritage backdrop with fundraising for 432 (Woodbridge) Squadron RAF Air Cadets. A 1.5 km junior race also features as part of the day's programme.
