About Yorkshire 3 Peaks 70/100km Ultra
Nestled in the Yorkshire Dales, this 70 km ultra takes runners across classic limestone trails and over three iconic peaks: Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen y Ghent. The route follows sections of the Cam Road with 2185 metres of total ascent, starting and finishing at Hawes Market House on the weekend of 18–19 September 2027. Now in its 12th edition, the race attracts a field limited to 100 participants.
The event is structured around established trails with generous cut-off times and support provided by a Ranger Safety Team stationed at race headquarters, road heads and hill top locations. Water, soft drinks, snacks and hot soup are available at road heads. Runners receive GPX files and course notes in advance, and indoor hall resting space is available on Saturday night for those taking part over both days. A compulsory kit list is enforced, covering essentials from navigation equipment and head torches to emergency bivvy bags and appropriate clothing for mountain conditions.
Finishers receive an eco coaster medal, with awards for the fastest runners in the 70 km race.
