About Zach's Devil Steps Trail Run
Zach's Devil Steps Trail Run is a charity event raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. Taking place on 13 September 2026 at The Zach Willsher Pub in Benfleet, Essex, runners choose between a 6-mile or 12-mile trail route and navigate using written instructions rather than marked paths. The courses wind through roads, tracks, footpaths and bridleways across parks and woodland around the area.
This is a self-navigated event with no mass start or marshals, though participants are timed throughout. Trail shoes suitable for off-road running are recommended, though muddy footwear must be removed before entering the venue. Age-related distance restrictions apply for under-18s. Places are limited to 120 runners.
